From October 18 to November 2 at Brolo Center presents Art Laguna Art and Culture of Mogliano Veneto (TV) the exhibition of the 30 finalists of the painting section of the International Prize Arte Laguna a competition - this year - has been confirmed the more attractive nationally, surpassing the 3,300 works entered from all over the world - Europe, Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania.

Artsists: Manuel Baldini, Alberto Barazzutti,
Luca Bidoli, Marta Bettega, Stefano Bolcato, Chambers Cholla, Davide Comandè, Oscar Colombo, Nebojsa Despotović, Giuseppe Donnaloia, Giuseppe, Alexandre Eudier, Fidia Falaschetti, Damiano Fasso, Pierluigi Febbraio, Leslie Jenkins, Benny KatzJames H. King, Ilaria Margotti, Marco Marini, Ito Masaki, Alessandro Mazzoni Costantin Migliorini, Carmelo Nicotra, Michela Pedron, Diego Pomarico, Iacopo Raugei, Vanco Rebac Vanco, Thomas Riess, Peter Senoner, Cristina Stifanic, Angelo Volpe.

The artworks were selected by a Jury of Award composed by John Smith, John Hall, Ilaria Simeoni, Viviana Siviero (President of the Jury of the section), Igor Zanti. Ten nations were represented: Italy, USA, Russia, France, Britain, Israel, Japan, Serbia, Croatia, Austria.

The exhibition, curated by Viviana Siviero, reconstructs a good approximation, through the group of selected works, a glimpse of the evolution that has invested the most classic among medium. The different strands alternate hints, starting from experiments close to realism, to reach the limits of technology to the land on which the definitions are unnecessary, through experience matters, trespassing in graphics and concept, in stupefacendo in provocative the politically incorrect in the pop world and low brow: a view very significant "time and here, where we must go beyond the visual enjoyment.

Special mention should be devoted to the jury's decision to present "The Big Red Buck," the watercolor artist Cholla the horse-Nevada (USA), alongside the finalists. The work, though excluded from the awards, has won a Special Jury Mention as a form of provocation which would put an accent, not necessarily controversial, ironic evolution of the myth of art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction.

The inauguration will take place Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 18:00 Brolo Centre for Art and Culture of Mogliano Veneto (TV). During the evening will be presented to the public of the artists in the exhibition and the prizes to the winners of awards and special institutions. The event will be hosted by Nelly Pellin, journalist Antenna 3.
