From October 4 to 19 shows at the Laguna Art Spaces Bomben for Culture of the Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche Treviso the exhibition of the 30 finalists of the sculpture department of the International Art Prize Arte Laguna, a competition - this year - has confirmed the more attractive nationally, surpassing the 3,300 works entered from all over the world - Europe, Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania.
The works were selected by a Jury of Award composed by Igor Zanti (President of the Jury of the section), Viviana Siviero, Carlo Sala, Annalisa Rosso and Gloria Valais. Among the artists on show include big names in the international art scene, including mention Patricia Linke, Flavio Lucchini and Irina Gabian.
Eleven nations were represented: Italy, Romania, Switzerland, Georgia, Holland, Germany, France, Spain, United States, Israel and South Korea
The exhibition, curated by Igor Zanti, is structured in two strands: a first strand of conceptual derivation, continues a tradition that was inaugurated in the mid-60s, along with some consistency across the contemporary art to this day. In this macrofilone, which can be attributed most of the works are part of taste experiences that are installed that integrate very different materials and mediums of expression, where the sculptural object blends in a strong way with the video and light installation in attempt to arouse the viewer a strong emotional impact.
Another group of works is instead characterized by a taste derived from pop and new-pop which is a favorite ironic language, and which manifest a search that integrates the culture of street art, web design, comics and cartoons.
The inauguration will take place Saturday, October 4, 2008
