Pierluigi Febbraio’s “Mania 186” won the 3 International Art Prize Arte Laguna

The skill of his gesture, associated to a technical and formal originality, suitable to testify the typical weakness of contemporary man.”(Viviana Siviero, President of the Jury – painting section). On 18th October Febbraio was rewarded with a 4.500 euro cheque at  Brolo Centro d'Arte e Cultura in Mogliano Veneto (Treviso) in occasion of the opening of the collective exposition of the 31 most suggestive art pieces that entered the contest.

The work belongs to the project “Archivio delle esistenze” (trad. “Archive of existences”), an archive of images in where every man represent a mania and each mania is identified by a number. The artist represents some sort of icons of “normal” persons, who live in a precarious mental equilibrium. He uses the childish drawing as a primordial track of the existence of every man, that in part reveals the origin of an uneasiness. The works puts itself without any psychoanalytic  pretention as a “pretence” where the boundary between interior and exterior vanishes until the integration.

“Mania 186” will be exposed until 2nd November at the collective of the finalist artists, cured by Viviana Siviero (President of the Jury, painting section). The exhibition reproduces a cross section of the evolution of painting. Many different branches are purposed or simply alluded: from experimentation next to realism up till realizations at the limit of technique, where any definition is useless: visitors can appreciate materic, graphic, conceptual experimentations where astonishment and provocation are pursued.
