Since the summer of 2008 the [un]defined festival has taken place in the spaces of the F. Rossi Casern in Merano. The festival was born as a platform and meeting point for social and multicultural exchange within a multilingual society.

| CITY | SPACE | FUTURE
The concepts of metropolis, megalopolis, metropolitan area and outskirts, global dimensions and glocal situations have become part of our daily language and determine everyone’s lives. The same concepts can be adopted in contemporary cultural production, because these invisible, impossible and also imaginary cities are almost always the starting point for contemporary creativity. Every artistic flow, every movement finds its venue, its destination and its catalyst in the city. Therefore, urban spaces become an almost impossible world, the structure and scenario for the realization of projects and ideas, the attraction towards a hidden creativity.
The notion of urban space is the focus of the forthcoming edition of the [un]defined festival, which has taken place every summer for the last three years in Merano, within the area and buildings of the old Francesco Rossi casern.
The previous edition was focused on the concept of the border as defining edge of identity questions, of conjunctions and disjunctions and of comparative moments of development. This year the project is dedicated to the city as urban space and as ideal space, where ideas assume form, develop and consolidate within ongoing cultural architecture and related changes. In this context, the city is a source of inspiration as the background and root of ideas and thoughts, an open space for the confrontation and the perception of other dimensions.
