Contarina srl | Ca' Foscari Sostenibile | Arte Laguna Prize

The special Prize dedicated to Art and Sustainability is part of the 15th International Arte Laguna Prize.
The prize is promoted and created in collaboration with the support of Contarina with Ca’ Foscari Sostenibile of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, and for this year it is realized. To participate, it is required the presentation of works, products and art projects including design, photography, video art and performance, etc. which enhance the RRR strategies (Reuse, Recycle, Reduce) and their positive impact on nature and the lives of citizens.

The jurors of this special prize will be:
– Matteo Galbiati art curator of the Arte Laguna Prize
– one or more representatives of Contarina
– one representative of Ca’ Foscari Sostenibile

Contarina
Contarina, founded in 1989, deals with waste management and other environmental services in 49 municipalities in the province of Treviso. The public company offers its services to over half a million inhabitants.
Recognized by the European Community as one of the best examples in integrated waste management. Over the years Contarina has reduced the production of non-recyclable waste per capita, reaching 43.60 kg / inhabitant a year in 2019, exceeding 88% of recycling rate.
Contarina’s core business is based on an integrated waste management system that starts from the production of waste and considers its entire life cycle with the aim of being sustainable in all its phases and concretizing the circular economy process, thus representing an example of a state-of-the-art public company in services and results.

Ca’ Foscari University of Venice
Since 2010 Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, through the Ca’ Foscari Sostenibile program, has been promoting sustainability, including it as a perspective within all the University’s activities.
Every year Ca’ Foscari is committed to encourage actions and behaviors that reduce the impact of the university on the environment and natural resources, and to promote community welfare, social equity and economic development.
Moreover, the Venetian University creates engagement projects for internal stakeholders and for the entire community, involving diverse subjects – local, national and international – in order to promote the dissemination of a model of sustainable development, through the exchange of best practices and the union of different scientific and operational skills.
Since 2013 Ca’ Foscari develops the theme of Art and Sustainability, working with national and international institutions for the realization of projects that emphasize the connection between sustainability and art. Among these is the Arte Laguna Prize which, through art, aims to raise awareness within the local and international community to the issues of sustainability, specifically enhancing the RRR strategies (Reuse, Recycle, Reduce).
