MORE THAN 4000 PEOPLE TO THE GALA EVENING OF ARTE LAGUNA PRIZE

HAPPENING OF GREAT SUCCESS

Venice, 12th March 2011 – Happening of great success, 
the gala evening of the 5th Arte Laguna Prize.
More than 4,000 people crowded the Nappe area of Arsenale of Venice 
to live the expected award ceremony but also to enjoy the 100 artworks
on display and the 10 selected performances.

- Highlight of the event: the proclamation of the winners of the different sections of the contest who won 5000 euros each:
in the painting section Miazbrothers, for the research in the field of painting and for the research of the portrait dimension that forces to a constant and stimulating tension of the eye, to a need of a settlement and orientation of the spectator; for the formal and conceptual research that returns a synthesis of great interest and poetry, the jury awards Daniele Geminiani as the best artist for sculpture section;
in photographic art section wins Lottie Davies for the technical accuracy, the elegance of the composition, the interesting chromatic use;
thanks to the effort of going over the video language in relation to the contemporary media system and the technical research, the group IOCOSE wins the video section;
La Badini Collettivo are the winners of performance section considering the synthesis between theatre tradition and visual innovation that opens interesting interpretations on the performance dimension.

Another excellent result for the all-female staff of Arte Laguna Prize that, with determination, created in eight months the 5th edition of the Prize, bringing in the lagoon international works of art, galleries, personalities of the art world, businessmen, artists, collectors and a lot of friends.

Now the work continues to prepare the new announcement of participation for the next edition that will open on 4th June. During the event, in the context of the vernissage of Art Biennale, the winner of the fourth artist residence at the Claudio Buziol Foundation of Venice will be announced

Appointment: on Sunday, 13th March at 11 am, Nappe area of Arsenale for a guided tour with the curator of the prize Igor Zanti, followed by a debate.

Venice, 14th February 2011 - The jury is about to conclude the final phase for the selection of the 110 finalist artists of the 5th edition of Arte Laguna International Prize.
All the finalist artworks will be on display at the collective exhibition which will open on 12th March 2011 in the enchanting venue of Venetian Arsenale and will be inserted in the catalogue of the prize.

ORLAN ASSIGNS THE ARTE LAGUNA SPECIAL PRIZE

Venice, September 2, 2010 - Yesterday during the opening of the thirteenth edition of the OPEN, in the evocative location of San Servolo island, was nomenee the winner of the Special Prize Arte Laguna. Alberto Gianfreda, artist Fine Art Accademy of Brera, has been awarded from the eclectic French artist Orlan. Alberto Gianfreda has the possibility to be one of the finalists of Arte Laguna Prize 2010 and he has also the opportunity to exhibit in the Italian network of Italian and international art galleries partners of the association.

New opportunities for artists


The Fifth Edition of the International Prize "Arte Laguna", organized by the Cultural Association MoCA and the Arte Laguna Office, under the aegis of, among others, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Veneto Region, European Institute of Design, this year it presents many news - including two new sections of the competition, a jury entirely renewed composed by important personalities from national and international art field, the role of the Curator of the Prize – and it confirms its commitment to facilitate the meeting and comparison among critics, professionals and artists, as well as the promotion of the young emerging art.
